Lutherhaven Ministries Spring Adult Retreat, Go Outside & Play! is an opportunity to spend time at camp, learn, play, and grow!  

Lutherhaven Ministries is thrilled to welcome Dave Ellingson as our Guest Speaker for Go Outside & Play! This one-night retreat is designed to provide time and space for adults to enjoy all camp has to offer – campfires, s’mores, time in the word, and fellowship! Dave will encourage us to “Go Outside & Play!” During the retreat you will be challenged to look at what the words “Go Outside and Play” means with the life of Jesus in mind.

This retreat explores the meaning of and puts into practice the following:

GO…deepen your experience of the Great Commission of Jesus and follow him into the world.

Outside…together go outdoors and experience God’s good creation at Lutherhaven, on the water, and in the trees.

Play…reconnect with your inner child and stretch your heart and mind through playful activities.

Join Dave on his adventures, hear the stories of new friends, and imagine new adventures as you, “Go Outside & Play!” and what better place than camp to “Go Outside & Play”? 

Retreat Details

Check-in begins Tuesday at 2 pm and we will wrap up around 4 pm Wednesday. There is the option to stay Wednesday night and extend your time to midday on Thursday for an additional cost.

Lutherhaven is excited to welcome longtime Lutherhaven friend, Dave Ellingson. Dave is an adventurer, author, film maker, podcaster and speaker known as the “Paddle Pilgrim.” He is a kayaker, Lutheran pastor, former college professor, Master Gardner, and former distance runner and triathlete. He is married, the father of five grown children and five grandchildren, he resides in Edmonds, Wash. To learn more about Dave check out his website, Paddle Pilgrim. 

Tuesday 

• 2-4 pm: Check-in 
• 4:00 pm: Camp Activities – boating (weather permitting), archery, climbing tower
• 5:30: Dinner & Fellowship
• 7:00: Session 1
• 8:30: Campfire with s’mores for adults and kids at heart!

Wednesday

• Breakfast
• Session 2
• Lunch
• Session 3
• 4:00 pm – departure; feel free to stay and play around camp

• Community Meals
• Pickleball
• Kayaking (weather permitting)
• Journaling, reading your bible, drinking a cup of coffee

Cost

• $125 includes 1 night’s lodging, 3 meals, program
• $75 non-refundable deposit
• Optional: $15 linens
• Optional: $75 additional night (Wednesday) + 2 additional meals (dinner + breakfast)
• No discounts for meals not taken

Lodging 

You will receive lodging assignments upon arrival. All lodging assignments are made with the best stewardship of the camp’s resources in mind. You may request a roommate on your registration (this can be a friend or spouse). All sleeping spaces have a private bathroom.

Packing

• Seasonally warm, comfortable clothes (there are great indoor and outdoor spaces)
• Seasonal, sensible outdoor shoes or boots for walking around camp
• Toiletries
• Linens (unless renting)
• Bible…and we’ve got one to share if needed!
